Head Football Coach Openings

It sounds like Pender will have a new head coach. Rumor is Andy Welsh will take over this year. I believe he was on staff last season as well.

Any word on any of the other schools with openings?

Thanks HuskerSox, I updated the list above. Any confirmations on these jobs:

Blue Hill:

Ansley-Litchfield:

Mead:

Concordia(Omaha):

Lance Howitt is a great coach and gets the most out of his kids and the kids love to play for him.

What happened in Pender with Coach Warren?? I know they didn't have a boatload of wins in his short tenure, but their wasn't a lot of talent to work with!!

From what I understand, Coach Warren and his wife are moving to Centennial. I don't know if that is because of the coaching change, or if the coaching change is because they are moving.

Gene Suhr is the new Creighton head coach? That's unreal if true. I knew he lived there and was from there, but didn't think he would get back into it.

Can anyone confirm changes in head FB coaching duties at Grand Island Central Catholic & Hastings Senior High?

I've heard Omaha South has ended their search, Mead has a coach in place, and Concordia (had) their search narrowed down to a hand full (as of a couple weeks ago), but I've heard no names. Anyone know any?

Charlie Shoemaker to Hastings High
Kurt Finkey will take over at GICC

Finkey used to coach football at Wilber-Clatonia for a few years in the early/mid 2000's and since has been at Ashland-Greenwood, but not sure if he coached there. Might have done girls basketball for a little bit there..

Finkey has been head coach at Hemingford, Wilber-Clatonia, Creek Valley and in Iowa (not sure name of school.)

Goodner has been the Girls head basketball coach for the past 2 years and was also the assistant when Stuart made the trip to state football in 2013. He has enjoyed quite a bit of success in his first 2 years with both sports.

Chris Fant has been named the head coach at Omaha South. He's the older brother of current Packer Noah Fant and he's been a coach on the staff there the last few seasons.

Brad Kjar is a good man. I knew him well when he was at Senior High in GI. Passionate about the game and a terrific player in his day. Played professionally for Kearney's indoor football team when they were still in existence. I really like and respect Coach Kjar.

I know I have a couple of friends kids that play for him at Bondurant-farrar and he was the longest coach to served at Bondurant-farrar. They hope and wish him the best of luck in nebraska.

So...just final confirmation: Brad Kjar is the new head football coach at Mead? May I ask if you pronounce his last name like:
1) "car"
2)"jar"
3) "ka•jar"

Thanks in advance.
