The NSAA Board of Directors met on January 15, 2015 at the Association Office in Lincoln, Nebraska with the following members present:

District I - Mark Norvell, Fillmore Central
District I - Wendy Henrichs, Lincoln East
District II - Dr. Bob Reznicek, Boys Town
District II - Nolan Beyer, Millard Public Schools
District III - Jay Bellar, Battle Creek
District IV - Dr. Brian Maher, Kearney
District V - Alan Garey, Medicine Valley
District VI - Troy Unzicker, Alliance

Also in attendance were Rick Moses, Nebraska Department of Education liaison; Rex Schultze, NSAA Legal Counsel; Julia Plucker, NSAA Lobbyist; and Jim Meister, Activities Director, Omaha Roncalli High School.

The meeting was called to order at 9:25 a.m.

1. Moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Items on the Consent Agenda included:
- meeting agenda, as amended
- minutes of the December 10, 2014 regular board meeting
- financial statements
- New cooperative sponsorships for Emerson-Hubbard and Pender High Schools for boys and girls track
- New cooperative sponsorships for Bancroft-Rosalie, Pender, Lyons-Decatur Northeast and Emerson-Hubbard High Schools for baseball
- New cooperative sponsorships for Nebraska City, Johnson County Central and Lourdes Central Catholic High Schools for boys and girls soccer
- Cooperative sponsorship renewal for Omaha Mercy and Omaha Brownell-Talbot High Schools for softball
- Cooperative sponsorship renewal for McCook and Southwest High Schools for boys and girls swimming
- Cooperative sponsorship dissolution for St. Paul and Elba High Schools for boys and girls track
- Cooperative sponsorship dissolution for Omaha Concordia and Omaha Street High Schools for boys and girls track
Motion Carried: 7-0

2. Moved to approve the revised Lobbyist contract with Heartland Strategy Group. Motion Carried: 7-0

3. Moved to approve Omaha Benson High School's request to opt up for the 2015-16 school year. Motion Carried: 8-0

4. Moved to approve the 2017-18 December Moratorium dates as December 23 through December 27. Motion Carried: 8-0

5. Moved to approve the revised and amended documents for the 2014-15 Media Manual in regard to the Live Video Broadcast Request Form, Post-Season LIVE Video Broadcast, Police for Live Video Broadcast, and Live Video Broadcast Procedure and Rate Card. Motion Carried: 8-0

6. Moved to approve the Spring Activities Manuals. Motion Carried: 8-0

7. Moved to recognize the following individuals with the NSAA Distinguished Service Award: Bob Danenhauer, Chuck Larson, Jim Carmichael (posthumously), Bud Dahlstrom, and the NSAA Outstanding Service Award to Craig Ames, Justin Ahrens, Tim Gansebom, Blake Lyon, Sharon Hoffman, Janet Zillig and Deb Headley. Motion Carried: 8-0

8. Moved to approve 3-year contract with Awards Unlimited for NSAA awards. Motion Carried: 8-0

9. Moved to table Archbishop Bergan High School's request to correct their enrollment numbers previously submitted to the Nebraska Department of Education from 87 to 74 pending additional information. Motion Carried: 8-0

10. Moved to approve the retirement provisions for Bud Dahlstrom with thanks and regrets. Motion Carried: 7-0

11. Moved to approve a Dual Wrestling all-session admission pass at $10 for adults and $8 for students. Motion Carried: 8-0

12. Omaha Roncalli High School appeared before the board to discuss a missed coop deadline with Omaha Mercy High School for girls tennis. At was moved to approve the coop and that Omaha Roncalli High School be assessed a $250 administrative fine. Motion Carried: 8-0

13. Moved to enter Executive Session at 1:15 p.m. to further discuss hearing and personnel information.

14. The Board came out of Executive Session at 1:50 p.m. and the meeting was adjourned.

The next meeting of the Board of Directors will be held in Lincoln on February 18, 2015. The Legislative Commission will also meet that day prior to the Board of Directors meeting.
