Thanks. The NSAA doesn't have all the scores posted yet so I couldn't check the games already played. I've corrected it and edited the OP.

I disagree on Norfolk Catholic beating Boone.

Can you run the numbers with Boone at 9-0?
I don't really have an opinion on that game. Two very good teams. My formula picks NC because their opponents have better combined record than BC. Here's the bracket with that change.

#16 - Milford-Dorchester (6-3, 40.33)

# 8 - Chadron (7-1, 43.13)
# 9 - Grand Island Central Catholic (7-2, 42.89)

# 5 - Kearney Catholic (8-1, 43.44)
#12 - Ogallala (5-3, 41)

# 4 - Cozad (8-1, 43.78)
#13 - Broken Bow (6-3, 40.67)

# 3 - Columbus Scotus (8-1, 44.11)

Here is what I based my bracket off of. All of these games change the playoff picture. Lots of variables.

I really hope we have a Norfolk Catholic/ Boone Central Final.

This weeks game between the two should be very interesting.

I usually get questions about why I picked one team over another. My formula is "team with the better record wins" with tie-breakers involving opponents' records and points scored if needed. Many usually point to CalPreps.com for predictions. The have the following "upsets" for this week. I've updated my predictions with those changes.

Boone Central/Newman Grove over Norfolk Catholic
Wayne over West Point-Beemer

# 5 - Kearney Catholic (8-1, 43.44)
#12 - Ogallala (5-3, 41)

# 4 - Cozad (8-1, 43.78)
#13 - Broken Bow (6-3, 40.67)

# 3 - Columbus Scotus (8-1, 44.11)

#10 - Falls City (8-1, 42.11)

# 2 - Boone Central/Newman Grove (9-0, 45.33)
#15 - Fort Calhoun (6-3, 40.67)

Chase County (5-3, 39.88)

what does the Wayne score over WP have to do with anything. those two teams are like 3-5 each. both playing their last games of the year tomorrow. maybe I could be wrong but they are not in playoff contention or does a win by one of those teams help a team on the bubble

Not saying it is the case, but them winning could move them up a division. Which would then give teams who beat them move powerpoints.

Yeah, I was just listing the games they had differently than my original projection. That game doesn't change anything so I could have left it off the list.

Just wondering why the NSAA doesn't view the West teams playing an 8 game schedule differently than the rest. I understand Ogalala is probably a really good team who played a very tough schedule. But we are talking about one less game that could be a loss, could also be a win. But why arent they being forced to play 9 like the rest. Thanks.

I imagine the reason why some schools are only playing eight games vs. nine is due to number of schools changing classses, consolidating, co-oping, etc. It really does have to be hard to schedule for some teams, especially in the western part of the state.

I know last year Wayne played nine games when everyone else played eight because South Sioux City (Class B) needed a ninth game and Wayne was the only team they could fit on the schedule after Iowa disallowed their teams from playing Nebraska schools anymore.
