Here's with both those games as you said:

# 1 - Battle Creek (9-0, 46.33)
#16 - Lutheran High Northeast (6-3, 41)

# 8 - Archbishop Bergan (7-2, 42.89)
# 9 - Malcolm (8-1, 42.78)

# 5 - Aquinas Catholic (8-1, 44.33)
#12 - Hartington Cedar Catholic (7-2, 41.89)

# 4 - Hastings St. Cecilia (8-1, 44.44)
#13 - Southern (7-2, 41.78)

# 3 - Freeman (8-1, 44.44)
#14 - Gibbon (8-1, 41.67)

# 6 - Sutton (9-0, 44)
#11 - Doniphan-Trumbull (6-3, 42)

# 7 - Oakland-Craig (8-1, 43.78)
#10 - Fillmore Central (7-2, 42.22)

# 2 - North Platte St. Patrick's (9-0, 44.67)
#15 - Stanton (7-2, 41.22)

FIRST FIVE OUT:
Yutan (6-3, 40.67)
West Holt (6-3, 40.33)
Kimball (6-3, 40.33)
Arcadia-Loup City (6-3, 39.67)
Southern Valley (5-4, 39.44)

Mavric if FC, Southern, and tri county win that will bump Freeman up to the 2 seed if my
Math is correct. Does that sound right to you?

I already had FC and Southern winning and Tri-County doesn't matter because it won't change their division so they would still be the #4 seed as shown in the OP.

Here is an additional projection. I have nearly the same stuff as Mavric has.

1- Battle Creek (9-0, 46.333)
16- Lutheran High NE (6-3, 41)

8- Archbishop Bergan (7-2, 42.888)
9- Malcolm (8-1, 42.777)

5- David City Aquinas (8-1, 44.333)
12- Hartington Cedar Catholic (7-2, 41.888)

13- Southern (7-2, 41.777)
4- Hastings St. Cecilia (8-1, 44.444)

3- Freeman (8-1, 44.444)
14- Gibbon (8-1, 41.666)

11- Doniphan-Trumbull (6-3, 42)
6- Sutton (9-0, 44)

10- Fillmore Central (7-2, 42.222)
7- Oakland-Craig (8-1, 43.777)

15- Stanton (7-2, 41.222)
2- North Platte St Pat's (9-0, 44.666)

First Teams Out:
Kimball (6-3, 40.666)
Yutan (6-3, 40.666)
West Holt (6-3, 40.333)
Arcadia-Loup City (6-3, 39.666)
Southern Valley (5-4, 39.444)

Freeman gets the 3 seed over St Cecilia due to the fact they have 2 division 1 wins (Southern and Fillmore Central) while St Cecilia has 1 (Fillmore Central). Battle Creek/LHNE would be a rematch of week 9. Aquinas-HCC would be a rematch of the week 1 game. Doniphan-Sutton would also be a rematch.

If this bracket held, every district would have at least 2 teams in with the exception of the two most western districts. They would each have 1 team (St Pats and Gibbon). The NE district would have 3 teams (Battle Creek, Hartington CC, LHNE) and the South Central district would have 3 (Sutton, St Cecilia, D-T).

I based the above projection on the following teams winning and moving up a level:
Hartington CC, Ravenna, Centennial, Southern, Fillmore, Tekamah, Stanton, Hershey, and Chase County.

The following teams could move up a level, which would have impact on the playoff bound teams, but I don't project them to do so:
LHNE, Bayard, Superior, Brownell-Talbot, Homer, Cambridge, St Paul (C1), and Gordon-Rushville (C1)

In my opinion, the biggest games in week 9 for playoff purposes are as follows:

Freeman (7-1) vs. Elmwood Murdock (3-5)- Freeman will be favored, but Elmwood-Murdock has battled quality teams all year

Palmyra (5-3) vs Southern (6-2)- They have several common opponents and scores are close

LHNE (6-2) vs Battle Creek (8-0)- LHNE really has nothing to lose and Battle Creek has nothing to gain. Even if Battle Creek loses they are still #1 seed.

Tekamah (2-6) vs Logan View (1-7)- Obviously neither team is getting in, but Tekamah has significant impact on the power points for 4 teams that are getting in and could help Yutan if some other things happen.

Doniphan-Trumbull (5-3) vs Southern Valley (5-3)- This is probably the biggest game of the week in terms of seeds. If Doniphan wins they will come in around a 10 or 11 seed and bump teams down. If Southern Valley wins they will come in around a 14 or 15 seed and bump teams up.

Cambridge (2-6) vs Hershey (4-4)- Hershey will be favored, but they just lost an emotional game with Kimball and are essentially eliminated from playoff contention. Cambridge win bumps power points for Southern Valley, another bubble team.

Thanks Mavric, for some reason I thought tri county was going for their 5th win not fourth

Just curious on what everyone's thoughts are on this class?

Who are the Contenders and who are the Pretenders? Who is the most overrated and underrated out of the group?

Overrated: Freeman
Underrated: Hartington Cedar Catholic

I usually get questions about why I picked one team over another. My formula is "team with the better record wins" with tie-breakers involving opponents' records and points scored if needed. Many usually point to CalPreps.com for predictions. The have the following "upsets" for this week. I've updated my predictions with those changes.

Aquinas over Bergan
Doniphan-Trumbull over Southern Valley

# 1 - Battle Creek (9-0, 46.33)
#16 - Lutheran High Northeast (6-3, 41)

# 8 - Archbishop Bergan (7-2, 42.89)
# 9 - Malcolm (8-1, 42.78)

# 5 - Aquinas Catholic (8-1, 44.33)
#12 - Hartington Cedar Catholic (7-2, 41.89)

# 4 - Hastings St. Cecilia (8-1, 44.44)
#13 - Southern (7-2, 41.78)

# 3 - Freeman (8-1, 44.44)
#14 - Gibbon (8-1, 41.67)

# 6 - Sutton (9-0, 44)
#11 - Doniphan-Trumbull (6-3, 42)

# 7 - Oakland-Craig (8-1, 43.78)
#10 - Fillmore Central (7-2, 42.22)

# 2 - North Platte St. Patrick's (9-0, 44.67)
#15 - Stanton (7-2, 41.22)

FIRST FIVE OUT:
Yutan (6-3, 40.67)
West Holt (6-3, 40.33)
Kimball (6-3, 40.33)
Arcadia-Loup City (6-3, 39.67)
Southern Valley (5-4, 39.44)

From what I can tell I think you can pare that list down to one team. I agree the teams that seem to have the best chance to be in the championship game opposite Battle Creek are Aquinas, Sutton, NPSP, St Cecilia. All of this is based on which teams end up in the opposite bracket. It will be a huge upset if Battle Creek doesn't make the finals and win the title.

One match up that was overlooked above is Tri-County and Centennial. Based on what I've seen when we played them and on film this game is a toss up. If Tri-County wins, we fall to the 11 seed (if all else goes as predicted) and would play Sutton, rather than Oakland-Craig.

Good thing you made all the posts on how Sutton was overrated
laugh.r191677.gif
Looks like you will get them or Freeman and I also recall you saying if you got to play them again it would be a different out come, I guess we will see Dad of Fillmore Central's QB

Yes Nut... I did think that Sutton was overrated based on running up scores against poor teams. You might also recall, since you love to follow my post so closely, that I admitted I was wrong after their performance against St. Cecilia. So, with that in mind, let's recall some of your posts, as well. Something about 5-4 will be a nice improvement for the Panthers this year? 6-3 would be a stretch? Not likely that we could beat Centennial or Malcolm? Have you made any type of a post since then admitting YOU were wrong?

SaKhusker i think it's best if you close down your account. You obviously have gotten too personal with all of this. You get on here and pound your chest and live vicariously through your son. Yes it is perfectly normal to be proud of the hard work your son and his teammates put in , they are obviously a decent team in class c2. But come on this is getting a little ridiculous. I can only imagine what the members of your community and your sons teammates think about your foolish and immature comments on here.

I get too personal? Give me a break I'm not the one making I've posted some controversial posts which I regret. I've admitted when I posted something and went out on a limb and was wrong. No one else seems to be able to do that. Which is fine I can live with that. But how am I being too personal? Please explain. This particular thread had nothing to do with anything I've posted in the past and someone had to dredge it up again. My son's team has over achieved the expectations since they were picked 4th in their district which is all I ever said to begin with. And everybody had to make it about me trying to live vicariously through my son which is so completely ridiculous it doesn't even need to be addressed again. Once I realized that making such predictions does not seem to be acceptable on here and everyone enjoys tearing you down too much - regardless if you own it when you are wrong or even if you are right. If you're paying attention you will have noticed that I stopped making them. As suggested by several of you I just let the team play and let that speak for itself. But now whenever I post about ANYTHING, someone has to take a shot at me. So tell me one more time... how am I making this personal?? I'm trying to leave it in the past and others won't let it go.

Now that was humorous Nut... and not so darn mean... I'll take back most of what I said about you now. So now with Sutton and Freeman off the table and back to the opponent I thought we would face all along, tell me what you know about OC. How bad are they going to kick our ass?

Huskers... You should know better than to think I would want to keep it simple! If you have a basis for your opinion/prediction, I would like to hear it. And FC not having won anything for 10 years is not a basis. I've heard that all year and these our kids have overcome that.Tell me what you know about this year's teams.

Everyone cool it with the personal jabs. Let's just talk about the games and the PLAYOFFS!!!!

Good luck to everyone that has made it this far.

BC could have a starter out due to injury don't know if it will affect the outcome of the game and nutty and sakhusker might as well keep it going, they have quite a fued going on. the dad who want to play but he is too old against the kid who knows it all. I think it is quite funny to say the least.
