    They are playing 9 man. I don't think it would appeal to Santee for that reason. I've seen them barely able to field a 6 man team some years. But proximity to those schools in South Dakota would work well for them.

    I think it was better than the final score. The coach seemed to be far more positive and the kids seem more motivated than the last couple times I've seen them. But even so.....they still have low numbers. I think 14 on the roster with one kid already injured.

    Tough one to call. Easily one of the most evenly matched games I saw all year the first time around. When in doubt, go with Coach Speirs.

    I'm not sure that this is true. I think the grace period would only apply to an existing school or co-op. That said I think we're going to find that a lot of schools are eligible for 8 man in this next cycle that we aren't expecting because we just don't have the data of the male population.

    Sacred Heart hasn't exactly beat amazing teams this year either and in the opportunities I've had to watch them they hurt themselves with penalties that their team speed can get them out of eventually. I think it's going to be a pretty tight game.

    Real shocked by this. Saw them recently, roster listed 14, they dressed 10, and by games end were down to 8. I have a hard time understanding doing the same thing year after year playing a shell game of who's healthy this week.

    In theory, an A team could declare for 8 man if they wanted from the way I read it. I'm sure they wouldn't, but as written it could happen. As far as the ballsy-ness of opting up in 8 man for better playoff odds, I can only see it making sense at the top end where the difference is 1 or 2...

    The way I've always read it is that 8 vs 11 is different then opt up or opt down. You declare 6, 8, or 11. Opting up or down would happen after teams have declared. The playoff eligibility has always complicated how its viewed. Makes me wonder if (and correct me if I'm wrong about this), a team...
