How do they come up with these splits, A has 34 schools, B has 26 schools, C has 60 schools and D has 125 schools, to me why not bump up some of those schools to make numbers more evenly distributed

I'm guessing for XC, they look more at individual participation numbers than team numbers. A lot of D schools don't have full teams.

That's just my hunch.

The manual says that the top 60 schools in the state in enrollment are split into Classes A and B, and of those top 60, schools with enrollment of 850 and above will be Class A, and the rest will be Class B. The next 60 largest schools are Class C, and then the remaining schools that sponsor XC are put into Class D.
