Crete was cleared Monday to play its regularly scheduled home game Friday against Plattsmouth. The game was originally canceled late last week along with Crete's road game at Lexington last Friday. This cancels the replacement game Plattsmouth was planning to play against Wahoo Neumann.

This means Wahoo Neumann is once again searching for a replacement game. Neumann's originally scheduled contest with Wilber-Clatonia was canceled due to COVID issues at Wilber-Clatonia. W-C also missed this past week's game with Sandy Creek.

Also, Crete's game at McCook back on Sept. 4 has been switched back to canceled (no contest) once again after McCook was awarded a forfeit win on the NSAA website over the weekend. Crete made a last minute decision not to make the trip to McCook that day because of a COVID-19 positive case, and that game was at first considered canceled before the move last weekend. This leaves McCook with a 2-1 record and Crete at 1-1.

Question: how does Norfolk Catholic cancel last Friday because of Covid, but can play 6 days later vs Ponca. No agenda, just wondering how this all works.

Just spitballing, maybe player tested positive day after they played Ord, that would give them nearly 2 weeks before the Ponca game.

Some cancellations were inevitable but many could have been avoided had schools made masks mandatory from the start. Once again the students are being punished due to actions or lack thereof from the adults who are suppose to be in charge.
Some of the schools that are canceling have had masks required for all students and staff since the school year started......

I think this is a bit unreasonable. You're basically saying that schools are the problem yet many of these kids go home and also get together in many places away from school without social distancing or wearing a mask. I get it though, blame the schools and their administration, what else is new?

Stop finding a reason to be upset, you'll find your day to be much better. Unless your are a school administrator, teacher, or coach....your opinion is irrelevant and how you feel is as well. Unprecedented scenario deserves some freaking grace....good grief.

I'm saying mandating masks from the start would have been the most logical and best preventative measure. It's pretty simple. If masks are worn and someone in the room is positive the only one having to quarantine is the positive individual. If masks are not worn anyone in close proximity for more than 15 minutes also has to quarantine. Now one person in quarantine has turned into 5 or 10.

Of course some people will make poor choices outside of school but the mandating of masks can help minimize the effects in school.

BTW, teacher and coach.

Per the OWH, Crofton will play at Valentine on Monday to make up the game that was cancelled on Aug. 28

Hastings St. Cecilia will play at Twin River on Oct. 12 to make up a game that contest was cancelled two weeks ago

Converting this thread to a scores thread.....will update throughout the night

Valentine defeated Chase County 14-0

Onaga (Kansas) defeated High Plains 58-22
