First teams that come to my mind are 2000 Lincoln Southeast, 2003 Millard North and maybe two recent ones, 2016 Bellevue West and 2014 Omaha North.

Those Westside teams of 1981-82 were outstanding and the '85 team launched that remarkable string of state championships. Papillion-LaVista was so good in the '90s, that 1996 team was my favorite.

Best title game? 2000 Southeast-Prep, the Knights winning 14-7 in OT.

Norfolk-benson game was also pretty good with an overflow crowd in Norfolk that night. athletes all over the field.

1985 Prep and it's not even close in my opinion. Outscored their three opponents 93-13 in the playoffs, including a 19-0 semifinal win over Burke and a 45-7 championship win over Papio. They were loaded with Division I talent on that team as well.

When it comes to football history I don't think anyone knows more than Bobby Mills. I'll take his word on the 48' Islanders.

Shame on you two "young bucks". Us old dudes know the 1948 Grand Island team may have been the best of all time with the legendary Bobby Reynolds running and Jerry Lee coaching. Destroyed Lincoln High 53-& in front of 8,500 Memorial Stadium fans in the state championship game.
I was hoping someone would recognize this team. Amazing top to bottom!
