Marquee game in C1 for the opening weekend. Both teams breaking in new QBs and both teams have a All-Class All-State caliber lineman. Both teams have veteran, championship coaches who have teams with a nice mix of veteran players and some newcomers getting their first primetime game experience. Obviously Catholic will rely heavily on Kautz, but it will be interesting how they work the transfer RB into the game plan. Neuman will have the same name, but a new face at QB with Eli Vedral, who some have said maybe a better football player than his brother, so some of their other losses at RB and receiver might be harder to replace. Catholic will be young on defense, but Neumann will have new starters at some skill positions on offense, so that matchup will be one to watch.

I'll give Catholic the slight edge in this game in Norfolk, 22-16.

this should be a very exciting contest to watch. get your ducats early and what a way to start the season, two teams who are going to be pretty good, two veteran coaches scheming against each other, two parochial powerhouses who know how to lay the wood to each other with both squads having top notch caliber athletes on the gridiron knocking heads with each other. Defense wins games and the team with the fewest to's wins this contest.

Should be a heck of a game. These teams usually don't need the first few weeks to work out the kinks. They'll be going 100% from the start. I think Kautz and company will win this in Norfolk by a touchdown.

Both of these teams play brutal schedules. NC's first six games...

Bishop Neumann
@ Lakeview
Wahoo
@ Boone
Pierce
@ O'Neill

While Neumann plays Wahoo, Boys Town, Aquinas and Scotus throughout their regular season.

Both are going to be tested when playoff football comes around.
