Here is a look at our picks for the best defensive lines in Class D-2, which sort of mirrors the great success enjoyed by all these programs.

1. Falls City Sacred Heart. Of course we have the Irish in our prayers this week after the tragic death of Easton Vonderschmidt earlier this week. Their offensive line will be pretty awesome, led by senior all-stater Theo Rohrer and including senior Brandon Scheitel and senior center Brady Keller. Lots of size and athletic ability.

2. BDS. Seniors Holden Stengel and Kellen Reinsch are both big and physical and junior Karson Dickson figures to step in and be the same type of player for the Eagles.

3. Humphrey St. Francis. Senior tight end Nolan Kosch is a proven commodity but we figure between senior Schuyler Wegener, junior Braden Frauendorfer and sophomore Dylan Wemhoff the Flyers will patch something together.

4. Osceola. Senior tight end Garrett Fisher leads a proven group that also includes senior center Derek Voight and senior Tristen Johnston.

5. Wynot. Big Kevin Bruening is in the all-state conversation with junior Ethan Hochstein and sophomore Mitchell Leise jumping into starting roles for a line that will average right at 250 per guy.
