Quite a few state records were broken this season. Here is a complete rundown.

BOYS

100 meters

- Ethan Baessler of Blair set a new Class B record with a time of 10.53, breaking the old mark of 10.67 set by Tirus Meaders of Boys Town in 2007

200 meters
- Jack Gillogly of Omaha Creighton Prep set a Class A and All-Class state record with a time of 20.90 seconds, breaking the old All-Class and A record of 21.31 set by Kenzo Cotton of Papillion-LaVista in 2012

- Dillon Miller of Brady set a Class D record with a time of 21.48, breaking the old record of 22.20 set by Nate Probasco of Scribner-Snyder in 2001

1,600 meters
- Carson Noecker of Hartington Cedar Catholic set a new Class C state record in the 1,600 meters, breaking one of the oldest records on the books, with his time of 4:17.80. It surpassed the old record of 4:18.6 set by Larry Kassebaum of Hebron in 1967

3,200 meters
- Carson Noecker of Hartington Cedar Catholic broke his own Class C state record in the 3,200 meters with a time of 9:07.73, which betters the 9:11.70 he ran in 2022

110 high hurdles
- Jaxon Knisley of North Platte St. Patrick's set a new Class C state record with a time of 14.18 seconds, breaking the old mark of 14.37 set by Sean Pille of Oakland-Craig in 2012

4x100 relay
- Omaha Creighton Prep established a new Class A and All-Class state record with a time of 41.26 seconds, breaking the old All-Class/A record of 41.40 set by Papillion-LaVista in 2013. Team members were TJ Nissen, Andrew Jones, Myles Jackson and Jack Gillogly

- Waverly set a new Class B state record with a time of 42.11, breaking the old record of 42.14 ran by Boys Town in 2010. Team members were: Preston Harms, Daniel Kasparek, Grant Schere and Austin Neddenreip

4x400 relay
- Waverly set anew Class B state record in the 4x400 with a time of 3:18.79, breaking the old record of 3:21.7 ran by Aurora in 1980. Team members were: Braxton Smith, Daniel Kasparek, Drew Moser and AJ Heffelfinger

4x800 relay
- Omaha Skutt established a new Class B state record of 7:49.18, bettering the old mark of 7:55.54 ran by Ogallala in 2017. Team members were: Jack Wade, Tommy Rice, McCoy Haussler, and Alex Rice

Shot Put
- Kade Pieper of Norfolk Catholic set a new Class C state record of 65' 3.75", breaking the old record of 62' 10" set by Cassidy "Bubba" Kramer of Atkinson West Holt in 2003
 
GIRLS

200 meters

- Kennedy Wade of Bennington set a new Class B state record with a time of 24.54, breaking her own record of 24.71 she ran in 2022.

800 meters
- Jordan Metzler of Wakefield established a new Class C state record with a time of 2:14.35, breaking the old record of 2:15.16 which was held jointly by Marissa Bongers of East Butler (2009) and Rylee Rice of Ainsworth (2017)

300 low hurdles
- Kate Campos of Lincoln Pius X set a new Class A and All-Class state record with a time of 42.39 seconds, breaking the old A/All-Class record of 43.04 set by Kianna Elahi of Millard North in 2007

4x400 relay
- Waverly established a new Class B state record with a time of 3:56.89, breaking the old record of 3:58.41 ran by Ord in 2015. Team members were: Joslyn Rice, Emma Steffensen, Millie Waldo and Alonna DePalma

4x800 relay
- Elkhorn North set a new Class B state record with a time of 9:27.97, bettering the old mark of 9:29.02 set by Seward in 2011. Team members were: Ella Ford, Jenna Polking, Morgan Sachs and Sydney Stodden

High Jump
- Karsyn Leeling of Sidney tied the Class B state record with a jump of 5' 10". She now shares the record with Sue Lind of Albion (1980 & 1981) and Kailynn Gubbels of Arlington (2021)
 
Thanks for all the work you do Alum-Ni! Quite the spring for track and field in Nebraska. Do you happen to know which year the most records were set? If not, I'll do some research when I get a chance.

Great question. It's hard to know because I don't know of any list anywhere that keeps a record progression.

With that said....I gotta think this year has to be at or near the top.

I would think so as well. This was a tremendous year for track and field in the state!
