District Track Meets take place this week. Below are the district assignments and the qualifying standards in each class. All district meets in all classes will use fully automatic timing systems (FAT). Classes A and D will have their district meets on Wednesday, May 12. Classes B and C will run on Thursday, May 13.

CLASS A - May 12

There are four districts in Class A. The top four in each individual running event will automatically qualify for the state track meet, plus the next eight fastest times from among the non-qualifiers from all districts, regardless of place in a finals event for a maximum of 24 total qualifiers. If there is a tie for the final qualifying spot, none of those tied shall qualify.

In the relays, the top three teams in each race will automatically qualify for the state track meet, plus the next four fastest times of the non-qualifiers from all districts, regardless of district placing for a maximum of 16 total qualifying relay teams. If there is a tie for the final qualifying spot, none of the tied relay teams will qualify.

In the long jump, triple jump, shot put and discus, the top four finishers in each district will automatically qualify for the state track meet plus the next eight best performances from the non-qualifiers from all districts. In a case of a tie for the final qualifying spot, all of those tied will qualify for state.

In the pole vault and high jump, the top four finishers in each district will automatically qualify for the state track meet, plus all athletes in all districts who meet or exceed the automatic qualifying mark will also qualify. The automatic qualifying mark is determined by using the average height of the 8th place finish at the Class A State Track meet for the past three years.

For 2021 those automatic qualifying standards are:

BOYSGIRLS
High Jump6' 3"5' 1"
Pole Vault13' 2"10' 0"

Athletes placing first, second, third or fourth in the pole vault must have cleared at least 9' 6" (boys) or 6' 6" (girls) in order to qualify for state.

TIES

Individuals tied for the district's last qualifying spot in races of 200 meters or less must compete for that qualifying spot in a runoff. Only the winner of the runoff will qualify for the state meet. In all other individual events those individuals tied in the district meet or in time comparison for the state meet will not qualify unless the tied individuals ran in the same race, and one was picked ahead of the other.

- In the field events, those tied for the last qualifying spot shall qualify if placing cannot be determined by using the tie-breaker rule for field events
- Relay teams tied for the fastest time will not qualify for the state meet
- Ties in time comparisons for the relay qualifiers will be broken by giving preference to the team(s) with the highest place in head-to-head competition. If the tie for qualifying still exists, those tied teams will not qualify.

Is there a website to see the top times for each class, not just the top one but like the top 20?
