State Qualifying Criteria:

CLASS A
- There will be four districts. The top four finishers in each individual running event will qualify for the state meet, plus the next 8 fastest times of the non-qualifiers regardless of place in a finals event for a maximum of 24 qualifiers per individual running event. If there is a tie for the final qualifying spot, none of the tied shall qualify.

- The top three finishers in relay events will automatically qualify for the state meet, plus the next 4 fastest times of the non-qualifiers regardless of place in a finals event for a maximum of 16 relay teams qualifying for state. If there is a tie for the final qualifying spot, none of the tied shall qualify.

- The top four finishers in each field event will automatically qualify for the state meet. Additionally, athletes who meet or exceed the automatic qualifying marks at the district meet shall also qualify for state. Those marks are listed below. (Automatic qualifiers in the pole vault must clear at least 9' 6" for boys and 6' 6" for girls in order to qualify for state.)

- In addition to regular qualifiers in individual running events, additional qualifiers will be allowed in Class A if their time is one of the six fastest from all districts, regardless of place. If there is a tie for the extra qualifying spot, those individuals tied will not qualify unless the tied individuals ran in the same race and one was picked ahead of the other.

Additional Field Event Qualifiers (All Classes)

In addition to the automatic qualifiers in the field events at the district track meets, all athletes who meet or exceed the following marks at the District Track Meet will also qualify for the state meet. These qualifying marks are determined by using the average distance/height of the 8th place finisher from the past three state track meets.
