Seriously, I don't remember so many good Class B teams with legit D1 talent.

Elkhorn South 5-0
Gretna 5-0
Skutt 5-0
Plattsmouth 5-0
York 5-0
Aurora 5-0
Elkhorn 4-1
Beatrice 4-1
McCook 4-1
Northwest 4-1

I know a lot of these teams still play each other, but man their are some great teams in Class B. It'll be interesting to see Gretna and Elkhorn South in Class A in a few years. I'm hoping to watch Grenta vs Elkhorn South at the end of the year.

Has anyone seen some of these teams play?

I really agree with Damon and Gary this AM Elkhorn So, Skutt , Gretna all poised as top ten. If North loses to Central Friday. One of them will fill the 9 or 10 slot.

I'll probably be the odd man out on this discussion, but I have long thought that the cream of the crop in class B could consistently succeed in class A, the cream of the crop in C1 could consistently succeed in B, cream of the crop in C2 could consistently succeed in C1.

A few years back Elkhorn, a perennial power in B, went to A for a 2 year cycle. If I remember right they went to the semis one of those years and lost to eventual state champion Millard South. One of those years they were tied with Millard South in the regular season and attempted something like a 20 yard FG for the win, but South blocked it and took it back for a TD as time expired. In 99 or 2000 Elkhorn was still B and thumped Columbus by 4 or 5 TDs. Columbus High went to the semis that year.

Scotus is one of (if not the) best in C1 this year and Aquinas (C2) gave them all they could handle both last year and this year.

Generally speaking, I think the top 2 teams in each class, maybe even 3, could move up and be a top 3-6 team in the class above them.

There are a couple schools that could be middle of the pack year in year out. Make the playoffs but just don't have the numbers to sustain.

I agree somewhat. I think it just depends on the year and the team. Like this year, no doubt Aquinas could compete in C1 and probably would reach the quarterfinals if not the semi-finals. I think Battle Creek is another team that I think would do well in C1 this year, probably 6-3 regular season record.

I think Scotus would do well in Class B, but would fall in the quarterfinals.
