The NSAA Board of Directors met on November 7, 2019 at the NSAA Office in Lincoln with members present as follows:

District I - Mark Norvell, Fillmore Central
District I - Kathi Wieskamp, Lincoln Public Schools
District II - Dr. Bob Reznicek, Boys Town
District II - Thomas Lee, Omaha Northwest
District III - Dr. Jon Cerny, Bancroft-Rosalie
District IV - Dan Keyser, Sutherland
District V - Jim Kent, Dundy County-Stratton
District VI - Dr. Troy Unzicker, Alliance​

Also in attendance were: Kim Snyder, Nebraska Department of Education Liaison; Ron Mimick, Activities Director at David City Aquinas High School; student Wyatt Moravec and parents Tony Moravec and Erica Moravec; representatives from York; representatives from Grand Island; representatives from Hastings; and a representative from North Platte.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m.

1. The Consent Agenda was presented. Items on the Consent Agenda included:
- approval of the Agenda as presented
- approval of the Class Caucus Review Committee Minutes
- approval of the Minutes of the October Board of Directors Meeting
- approval of the minutes of the special telephonic board meeting held October 24, 2019
- approval of the Financial Statements

- Approval of the following new cooperative sponsorships for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years:
  • Omaha Christian Academy and Omaha Street School for football
  • Eustis-Farnam and Elwood High Schools for football
  • Wood River and Shelton High Schools for football
- Approval of the following renewals of cooperative sponsorships for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years:
  • Omaha Concordia, Omaha Brownell-Talbot and Omaha Christian Academy for baseball
- Approval of the following renewals of cooperative sponsorships for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years:
  • Elgin and Elgin Pope John High Schools for football, volleyball, wrestling, boys basketball, girls basketball, boys track, girls track and boys golf
  • Verdigre and Niobrara High Schools for football, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country, wrestling, boys basketball, girls basketball, boys track, girls track and boys golf
  • Bancroft-Rosalie and Lyons-Decatur Northeast High Schools for football, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country, wrestling, boys basketball, girls basketball, boys track, girls track and boys golf
  • Logan View and Scribner-Snyder High Schools for football
  • Exeter-Milligan and Friend High Schools for football

Motion Carried: 8-0

2. The Board discussed NSAA Bylaw 2.8 Undue Influence

3. The Board discussed the Legislative Proposals and outcomes of the November District Meetings

4. The Board heard an appeal from Aquinas Catholic High School regarding a domicile/transfer hardship.

5. It was moved to grant immediate eligibility for the student from Aquinas Catholic High School with additional information that was provided to the Board today. Motion Carried: 7-0-1 (For: Norvell, Wieskamp, Reznicek, Lee, Cerny, Kent, Unzicker | Absent: Keyser)

6. The Board heard presentations from the following communities interesting in hosting State Softball: York, Grand Island, Hastings and North Platte .

7. It was moved to award the NSAA State Softball Host contract to Hastings for 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 Motion Carried: 8-0

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 12:34 p.m.

The next meeting of the Board of Directors will be Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Divots Conference Center in Norfolk.

Did a fourth group bid? Lincoln? I assume York didn't have two bids?

Stu said Hastings kept the tournament and made promises of improved dugouts and foul-ball netting. Both good changes.
