NSAA Releases 2016 and 2017 Schedules

In my opinion, which matters very little haha, Pierce has the toughest schedule in the state. Boone Central/NG, Aquinas, Columbus Scotus, and Norfolk Catholic....nuff said
Totally agree. That district is always stacked. I've always enjoyed watching Pierce, BC/NG, and Catholic. They aren't afraid to play anyone and have some of the best coaches in the state.

A few schedules that stand out to me....
Class A:
Prep- Westside, Burke, Fremont, Millard North, Papio, PLVS in first 6 weeks...Kearney in week 8.
Millard North- North, Mill West, Papio, Prep in first 4 games

Class B:
Aurora- McCook, Sidney, Scottsbluff, Crete, York, Northwest
Crete- Gretna, Skutt, Plattsmouth, Elkhorn, Aurora, Norris, Beatrice (in consecutive weeks)

Class C1:
Neumann- Norfolk Cath, Scotus, Syracuse, Aquinas, Boystown. They open the year with the two finalists from this year.
GICC- Kearney Catholic, Aquinas, Scotus, Lakeview, Boone
Norfolk Catholic- Neumann, Lakeview, Wahoo, Boone, Pierce (in consecutive weeks)
Wahoo- Ashland Greenwood, Norfolk Catholic, Syracuse, Aquinas, Nuemann

Class C2:
Battle Creek- Yutan, Oakland-Craig, Central City, Bergan, Hartington CC, Ponca, LHNE, Crofton, Stanton.....To me this is the most difficult schedule in the state of any class
Doniphan- Sutton, St Pats, Hershey, St Cecilia, Gibbon
St Cecilia- Wilber, Sutton, Central City, Doniphan, Gibbon
Sandy Creek- Wilber, Arcadia-LC, Sutton, Doniphan, Gibbon, St Cecilia

Side note...one game that I love that was scheduled is the Stanton-Elmwood Murdock game to open the year. I have a feeling that this was done because last year Stanton was left out at 7-2 while Elmwood-Murdock got in at 6-3 because they won their district. This is an odd pairing for each team considering the 125 miles that separate the two schools and the abundance of other schools between them. My guess would be that these two agreed to list each other #1. If that is the case, I applaud both schools for seeking the game out.

Wish more schools would do that. Stanton plays in a stacked district and isn't afraid to play good teams out of their district.
