I thought declarations were supposed to be done already....why are the 8-man schools still able to declare?

The 8 man split was somewhat of an "unknown", meaning teams didn't know if they would need to opt down to D2 from D1 because they didn't know where they would fall. This 2 day window allows teams that thought they would be D2 but ended up D1 to opt down. I'm not saying I agree with giving them 2 extra days to do this, but that is the logic that was given.

Gotcha. Thanks

How is Harvard eligible at 40? They will run away with 6 man next year, No Riverside No competition.
Loop hole in the system, 6man had no enrollment number, so anyone playing last year and now is above is in their grace period now. A team 8 kids from being C2 11-man playing 6man, wow

If you know anything about Harvard you know it's not the easiest place to get kids out for sports. They may have an enrollment with 40 boys but they'll be lucky to get 15 kids out and that's why they're where they're at right now. Coach Trimble has done a great job getting that program to where it is and getting kids in that school/community excited about football again.

I know that’s a popular take on here and and easy thing to say but it’s not always so black and white. Each school and each situation are different and have different solutions. This was their solution to try and bring excitement and pride back into the program. Having been in a similar situation I get why they did what they did. Doesn’t make it right doesn’t make it wrong. It’s what was best for them.

What are the issues at Harvard? Just curious.

Parents don’t care? Kids opting out? I know they’ve really never been successful at anything.
