I still think enrollments of 99-70 kids should be 9 man football and call it Class C2. 69-50 can be Class D1 and have it be 8 man. 49 and under can be Class D2 and have it be 6 man.
I find it amazing that some how the state of Nebraska is the only state that can't live with out opting down. The problems of a few effect many, if 5 to 7 more teams opt down this next cycle then the following teams drop into C2:C1 34 NORTH BEND CENTRAL 142 95 11 C1 35 CHASE COUNTY 140 96 11 C1 36 LOUISVILLE 139 97 11 C1 37 MITCHELL 139 98 11 C1 38 AQUINAS CATHOLIC 138 99 11 C1 39 GRAND ISLAND CENTRAL CATHOLIC 138 100 11 C1 40 LINCOLN CHRISTIAN 138 101 11 C1 41 MADISON 138 102 11 C1 42 SOUTHERN (90) LEWISTON (48) 138 103 11 C1 43 NORFOLK CATHOLIC 136 and now the bottom of C2 has the same problem with numbers and can't compete and more drop down the next cycle, as c2 raises to 140 or above in enrollment, D2 teams that will join the class ALMA 66 194 8 D1 47 FRANKLIN 66 195 8 D1 48 JOHNSON-BROCK 66 196 8 D1 49 MORRILL 65 197 8 D1 50 PALMER 65 198 8 D1 51 BERTRAND 64 199 8 D1 52 ELM CREEK 64 200 8 D1 53 NEBRASKA LUTHERAN 64 and the bottom of D2 will have problem and more will join 6-man. ALL BECAUSE THE NEED OF A FEWDeal. No opting, No Grace, Fix up the field and play it.
