Karsyn Leeling of Sidney sets a new all-class state record in the high jump, becoming the first girl in Nebraska history to clear 6 feet. It breaks the old all-class record of 5' 11" set by Bellevue West's Meredy Porter in 1987.

It also establishes a new Class B state record, breaking the old mark of 5' 10" which was set by three different folks, including herself: Sue Lind, Albion (1980 & 1981), Kailynn Gubbels of Arlington (2021) and Karsyn Leeling, Sidney (2023)

Reece Grosserode of Lincoln Pius X triple jumped 49' 8" at the Doane Indoor meet last week. It would appear to set a new Class A state record, breaking his own record of 49' 0.5" he set at the 2022 state meet.

There seems to be some confusion as to whether or not the record counts since it was performed indoors, but there is precedent as Robert Rands state recognized state record in the long jump was recorded indoors. So for now, I will note it above.

Fremont's Juan Gonzalez sets a new All-Class and Class A state record in the 3,200 meters with a time of 8:51.46, breaking the old record of 8:54.12 set by Millard West's Seth Hirsch in 2017

Gretna East's Braden Lofquest also sets a new state record today at the Bellevue East Invitational clocking a 4:15.16 in the 1,600 meters. It is a new Class B state record, breaking the old mark of 4:16.62 set by Steve Doran of Grand Island Central Catholic in 1981.

Another State Record!

Stella Miner of Omaha Westside sets a new Class A and All-Class state record in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:47.49, breaking the old mark of 4:49.2 set by Elizabeth Lange of Lincoln Pius X in 2003

I've heard from a very good source that Karsyn Leeling of Sidney high jumped 6'1" at Mitchell today.

Another day another state record.

Omaha Westside's Stella Miner breaks her own Class A state record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.77, breaking the old mark of 2:10.16 she ran in 2022.

The all-class state record still stands at 2:08.84 by Alice Schmidt of Elkhorn in 1999

Several state records broken today on a perfect day weather wise for track and field

First, Tommy Rice of Omaha Skutt sets a new Class B state record in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:15.05, breaking the record set by Gretna East's Braden Lofquest two weeks ago at 4:15.16.

====================================

At the same meet as Tommy Rice above, Fremont's Juan Gonzalez runs a 4:08.99 in the 1,600 meters to establish a new Class A and All-Class State record, breaking the old mark of 4:09.6 set by Milo Greder of Omaha Westside in 2017.

====================================

Stella Miner of Omaha Westside ran a 2:07.5, breaking her own Class A state record of 2:09.77 last week, and the All-Class State Record of 2:08.84 set by Elkhorn's Alice Schmidt in 1999

The 12th and 13th state records have been set today, both at the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kansas.

Kearney Catholic's Hazel Haarberg runs a 11.95 in the 100 meters to break the Class C state record of 11.98 set by Sarah Lyons of Omaha Brownell-Talbot in 2006. (The 12.01 referenced in the tweet below is the State Meet record.....the state record was 11.98).

===================================

Also at the KU Relays, Riley Boonstra of Norris runs the 3,200 meters in 9:02.25, breaking the Class B record of 9:12.9 set by Auburn's Bryan Clark in 1983

Also, the NSAA has notified Reece Grosserode of Lincoln Pius X that his 49' 8" triple jump that he recorded earlier in the season in an indoor meet will stand as a state record.

Two more state records fall today at the Kansas Relays:

Stella Miner lowers her own Class A/All-Class state record in the 800 meters, clocking a 2:06.68, bettering the 2:07.5 she ran last week.

==================================

Elkhorn North's girls 4x400 relay team of Maddi Harrison, Britt Prince, Leah Robinson and Sydney Stodden clock a 3:56.08, breaking the Class B record of 3:56.89 set last year by Waverly.

Also at the KU Relays, a fifth state record was broken on Friday, this one being one of the oldest on the books.

The Kearney Catholic girls 4x100 relay team of Hazel Haarberg, Margaret Haarberg, Payton Dzingle and Alyssa Onnen recorded a time of 48.26 which is a new Class C state record, breaking the old record of 49.1 set in 1975 by Hastings St. Cecilia

I overlooked a SIXTH state record that was set at the KU Relays:

Lincoln Lutheran ran a 3:23.22 in the boys 4x400 relay to set a new Class C state record, breaking the old mark of 3:23.91 set by Heartland in 2000.

I believe the foursome comprising the relay are Logan Lebo, Trent Ernst, Charlie Caldwell and Quinn Trutna

Last Wednesday at a meet in Arapahoe, North Platte St. Patrick's Jaxon Knisley clocked a 14.16 in the prelims of the 110 hurdles, which breaks his own Class C state record he set last year at 14.18.
