Just curious, it looks as if BDS is an 8 or 9 seed here. Do you think they will get beat once before playoffs, or is their schedule so weak that they fall to the 8 or 9 seed?

How do you have Burwell as the 1 with 45.... l have them finishing at 43.75
North Central 45 5-3
West Holt 40 2-6
Hemingford 45 5-3
Elm Creek 45 3-5
Amherst 45 3-5
ALC 45 4-4
South Loup 50 7-1
Ansley Litchfield 45 3-5

360/8 = 45

I just predicted the other teams records which may be incorrect in the end. South Loup could definitely beat burwell this week and change it up.

They are currently at 255 Plus 95 (50 for south loup, 45 for Ansley Litchfield puts them at 350, 350/8=43.75)

They sure are but ALC and Elm Creek get +5 each for bumping up to a division 2 by the end of the year = 360

5-3 4-4 and 3-5 are division 2 records

I kind of hope Creighton gets pushed West. The east is stacked with BDS, EMF, GACC, LHNE, Howells-Dodge.

South Loup and Burwell are damn good teams as well. The east is just deeper in my opinion this year.

I agree, would make things lot more interesting, but I really hope they don't haha.

And maybe just this year, could we not complain about bad teams making it in, its they way it is, nothing can change right now, so why talk about it? Its the same argument every year, and that horse is long past dead. Lets just concentrate on the teams that make it this year.

Just curious, doesn’t anyone else find it sad that teams with one or two wins and not real strong schedules are possibly making the playoffs?

Or in D2 where an 0-6 Winside who has forfeited games is only 3 spots away from qualifying!

Just curious, it looks as if BDS is an 8 or 9 seed here. Do you think they will get beat once before playoffs, or is their schedule so weak that they fall to the 8 or 9 seed?
Looking at their remaining schedule, it doesn't look like their points will improve much if any. Cross County may give them a pretty good game though.

BDS has could get a jump. I have them ending with 350 and a 3 way tie for the #1 seed. Id have to look at the tie break. Between Neb Christian, Creighton, and BDS.

I so wish the 8-man coaches would fix their playoffs so that we can get rid of loaded sides of the bracket. The fix is simple: keep the first round as it is for geography purposes blowouts; then re-seed the 16-teams and start the playoffs.

This would get rid of loaded sides and, more importantly, stop the 1-seed's from having to travel in the second round (when a 9 beats an 8).

Agree. This would help the 8 man playoffs greatly.

You think the coaches decide? Trust me, as a former coach we alllll want/wanted something different. NSAA calls the shots, we just made the best of it.

As a former coach then you SHOULD know how the change process works then......Schools submit proposals and then every school gets a vote on if the proposal passes or not. One school, one vote......NOT the NSAA Board.

In theory, it's that easy. In reality, it's unfortunately not. I hope for a change though, would be fun to cut it down somehow.

Sloupdog why did the coaches vote the way they did, nobody wants to watch or play in the games that are 90-12, 84-7 and so on especially when it's cold out, what do they have to do to get this fixed. I find it quite embarrassing that a team with a losing record even gets to play in the playoffs, as a fan as coach as a player it's not a honor to play in that game or as an official that get's assigned that game, it's just stupid.

Palmyra and Wakefield have an impact on the points depending if they will end up Division 2 or division 1 teams. I also picked Elkhorn Valley to win in this projection. I have Wakefield winning making them a division 1 and Palmyra as well.

Arcadia Loup City should win. I live in central Nebraska so I hear a lot about these teams, and I know ALC just got their starting QB back for the first time since week 2 or so. They played South Loup and Burwell tough so I would put my money on them. Elm Creek played Burwell tough too but ALC seems to be more consistent.

Wakefield and Wisner I have no idea. I just compared scores and went with Wakefield.

Elmwood murdock an palmyra i have no idea either I just picked Wakefield because of record.

hopefully someone else can give some insight on those games

NOT TRUE The 8-man schools voted down the exact same proposal that now has C1 and C2 with 16 teams, NSAA has nothing to do with it, The schools decide and 8-man wanted 32 teams

In theory, it's that easy. In reality, it's unfortunately not. I hope for a change though, would be fun to cut it down somehow.
Its not a theory, 8-man schools decided to keep 32 and decided to keep east and west, it was voted down by the 8-man schools, So NSAA just follows rules schools want and thats it.

Wow. If this east/west split is correct, 10 out of top 13 teams are east teams, and 6 out of 7 bottom teams are west teams. Maybe it is time to explore the option of having the "play-in" round split geographically, then re-seed the 16 team bracket after that. Based off this, the east 3 seed would be 6-0 Exeter-Milligan/Friend, and the west 3 seed would be 3-3 Hemingford. I'm not saying east is hands down better than the west, the west's top team vs. east top team would be a barn burner. Just seems as if the east has much more depth right now.
