I would think an actually sanctioned state championship would mean something? Doubt the state wants to see other sports pulling away from their sanctions. It is more about what does the NSAA have to gain by keeping control. If 30 teams are competing in an unsanctioned activity doesn't look good to me for NSAA. Why not start your own basketball subdivision or other sport?Dont see that happening for a while, they tried to last year and 6 man coaches voted it down. What does it gain 6 man by going back to being under control of the NSAA.
There weren't this many then. Numbers I would guess will change things. I believe the intent in letting them go was the belief schools would not continue playing non state sanctioned but apparently didn't/doesn't matter to them.The NSAA let the 6-man schools go to begin with, so they were forced to come up with their own association, it's not like those schools decided to break away on their own.
