Just as it is every year, the finals continue to have blowouts. Pretty much proves the point that it doesn't matter how many teams you take to the playoffs (32 or 16), there are going to be woodshed beatings. All this talk of taking the playoff field to 16 to eliminate blowouts is hogwash.

I agree that 16 is stupid, especially considering our D-1 champ would not have even been in the playoffs!
(I disagree that all these games have been blowouts. Only class A was in my opinion. D2, D1, C2 were all competitive until late in the game even if the score didn't exactly show it, but it's a moot point I get your overall point they weren't that close.)

Maybe the NSAA should appoint a playoff committee and only take 4 teams in each class!

I think it is better to have too many teams than to have a deserving team miss the playoffs.

I am not sure why people cant just enjoy the games and appreciate all the effort that players and coaches put in year round. I am a proponent of a sixteen team playoff in all classes, but I am not a part of the NSAA, it makes the regular season matter and each game important. In class A and B, there really should not be blowouts in finals, unless their is a year where a team is far superior, which happens, as there are plenty of numbers and substitutes. As you approach smaller classes, (especially C2 and Below), most/many play both ways and the grind of the season wears on these players, many times the healthier team in playoffs and finals had an easier run through the regular season.

Not entirely true that burwell wouldn't have made a 16 team playoff. Each team would've played one more game and it would've drastically changed points since you would have 4 divisions and not 3.

You might possibly be correct. Need to remember that Stanton finished 7-2 in 2015 and didn't make it. I still think they should go back to the way it was in the late 90's. 32 qualify for a qualifying round. 16 teams that win are in the playoffs. Reseed the teams 1-16 after the qualifying round. That way teams that are 0-8 or 1-7 don't have to play a 9th game. Trust me, teams that are that bad don't care if they get a 9th game.
