Basketball Boys Substate games are set

A question, with NBC being matched with St. Paul. Can this game be played at Columbus High (arguably the middle) even though NB played their subs at CHS?

The site is determined through mutual agreement. So if St. Paul finds it advantageous to North Bend they played there, they could say no. Also, if North Bend believes it to be bad luck to play in a gym they just lost, they could say no.

Could anyone stitch me a shirt that is half Palmyra and half Cedar Catholic?? Unbelievable odds came together last night for this match up to happen. My step son is a player for Cedar Catholic, my best friend and best man in my wedding is the HC for Palmyra. Oh and for good measure one of my former players at Sutherland is his assistant coach...who the F*ck does a guy cheer for!!??

Falls City SH vs Sioux County? Ouch! They could probably play that game at the Gothenburg middle school gym with as few people that will make the trek that far for the game!

Looks like you will have to spend one half in the Palmyra section and one half in the Cedar Catholic section.

Your step-son... Cheer for your kid.

Agree. That’ll be a small crowd in Cozad.
The crazy thing is, I'd put a steak dinner on saying Sioux County brings more fans...travel doesn't slow them down, and this is their first district final in at least a quarter of a century...the Warriors haven't made state since 1940...the folks in Purple and Gold will be there

People in western Nebraska are used to traveling 2 hours or so for regular season games. A game in Cozad won't bother the Sioux County fans one bit.

I know they are excited but the are going to get rolled, but you never know

I love the new system. I’m surprised I’ve seen a people on social media complain about it. Mostly the travel, but it’s still cool.

The only thing I would change is to have more double headers and less sites. (Also call it sub state and not district finals!)

Try to fit all or as many games on that Saturday. It would feel like a mini state tournament.

Instead of Adams Central vs O’Neill at Central Valley and Fullerton vs West Holt at Ord. Play them both at Ord.

Boone Central hosted Ponca Vs Amherst on Saturday. They host Laurel-Concord vs Anselmo-Merna tomorrow night. Just play it all one day.

Maybe the NSAA schools vote to have set sites reserved in the preseason? Because most of the sights that are selected currently, would continue to be selected each year anyways.

Lexington, Boone Central, Cozad, Waverly, Kearney High, CCC in Columbus, Columbus High, York etc. If a team has to drive an extra 25 miles, so be it.

Heard a guy (not sure who) on radio the other day say that a big problem is very few schools want to host the district finals anymore. He didn't give a reason why, just said it is becoming an issue.

Districts are less of an issue than subdistricts, due to fewer teams being alive and it being a little easier to find workers, but still tricky.

In volleyball, I know one school that had to contact 10 schools to find one to host their district final. That weekend is a little crazy (lots of schools have Friday off, Football Friday night, AD convention Sunday), but it took a lot to find a host for them.

That’s another reason why I think there should be designated sites. So these schools don’t have to plan to host a game, find officials, concessions etc in a span of 2 days. If the sites are set, the Administration should have a plan in place.
