Thoughts/Predictions on how these games go? I'll be heading to Wahoo, to see them take on Kearney Catholic. (Also for people familiar with games in Wahoo, is the field near the High School?)

#1 Bishop Neumann @ #9 Ogallala: They met last year in the playoffs, Neumann won it in the end by 9. I think they have quite a bit of motivation to wrap this one up quick and will win this one by two TD's or so. Bishop Neumann 35-Ogallala 17.

#5 Kearney Catholic @ #4 Wahoo: The Stars are an intriguing team to me. I think this game could be a heck of a battle. KC did go down to the wire last week against a solid Scotus team. Let's see who budges first. I'll go with the home team, but in a close one. Wahoo 31 Kearney Catholic 27.

#6 Aquinas @ #3 O'Neill: Can the dream season continue for the Eagles? Aquinas is a proven winner, they've done this before time and time again. While O'Neill hasn't made it past the first round since 1996. I think this one is close but in the third quarter Aquinas takes over. Aquinas 35 O'Neill 24.

#7 Boys Town @ #2 Arlington: They met in the regular season and the Eagles took that game, 18-6. But Arlington was given everything they could handle last week from Concordia who they played in Week 8, so it wasn't surprising that game was close in my opinion. Boys Town took care of Fairbury pretty easily last week, but the Jeffs did score 35 points. I think Arlington does it again and gets to the state semi-finals for the first time in school history. Arlington 24 Boys Town 16.

The Wahoo High Field is right behind the high school. WAY better for fans than the setup at Neumann.

i like these predictions. I think you're spot on. I'd like to see O'Neill's season continue, but Aquinas is just a little too good and #25 (Napier) was off-the-charts impressive in the win over Norfolk Catholic.

I will tell you this about O'Neill. They have multiple kids that have won wrestling state championships. There basketball team caused some noise in Lincoln last year. These kids are not your tipical O'Neill kids. O'Neill 28 ACH 17

No Way, Aquinas wins easy, I would say 34-16

I think O'Neill will make it interesting against Aquinas. I expect Aquinas to win, but I won't be surprised at all if O'Neill pulls this one out.

They did those things and I'm not dogging them at all. Aquinas is just legit against an excellent schedule. They've won state 4 of the past 5 years. That carries some weight. I hope it's a good game.

#1 Bishop Neumann @ #9 Ogallala - The Indians have shown to be competitive against their toughest competition, but I think they'll have to play their best game of the season to beat Neumann. They controlled the LOS against Chase County and it's paramount for them to do that again. northeast took my initial score, so I'm gonna say Bishop Neumann 38-14 Ogallala.

#5 Kearney Catholic @ #4 Wahoo - This is the type of matchup where KCHS usually plays its best. Was that way when I was in high school and they're still like that now. Wahoo will, and should, be favored in this one, but I'm thinking it will come down to a possession in the fourth quarter. The Shooting Star offense will keep KCHS in this game. Kearney Catholic 24-28 Wahoo.

#6 Aquinas @ #3 O'Neill - As others have mentioned, this is an accomplished group of O'Neill athletes. They got over the proverbial hump this year by taking down teams they've struggled against in the past, and now they're two games away from a trip to Lincoln. Standing in their way is one of the most accomplished teams in recent years. The Eagles have to win the turnover battle and get Aquinas out of its comfort zone. I don't see that happening. Aquinas 28-14 O'Neill.

#7 Boys Town @ #2 Arlington - The toughest C1 game this week for me to pick. I liked Arlington's defense until that 44-42 overtime win last week. Boys Town wasn't much more impressive against Fairbury, so I don't know if either has a momentum advantage heading into this one. I expect another low-scoring contest, but think the Cowboys avenge that regular season loss with a strong second-half performance. Boys Town 18-13 Arlington.

Neumann, KC, O'Neill, Arlington. Neumann is a lock for me. O'Neill will surprise. Dogs u said it best. The eagles won't shake against dca. They have multiple weapons all over the field. Aquinas must make them one dementional. KC is my upset special and Arlington is a tough one to pick but they can score with boys town.

Neumann @ Ogallala- Odd that the #1 overall seed has to travel nearly the length of the state to play a team that only traveled an hour for its first round game, but because of the NSAA playoff schedule rules, that's where Neumann finds itself. Will it spend that time on the bus thinking about a possible rematch with crosstown rival Wahoo? Won't matter, Neumann 35, Ogallala 14.

Kearney Catholic @ Wahoo- Too evenly matched teams. Wahoo has seemed to turn it up a notch since the loss to Aquinas. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes more than 4 quarters to decide this one, Wahoo 28, Kearney Catholic 27.

Aquinas Catholic @ O'Neill- This will be a young Aquinas team traveling a distance for its first tough road game of the season, as Scotus, Neumann, Wahoo and Norfolk Catholic were played at home. O'Neill has to be the Rodney Dangerfield of the C1 playoffs, undefeated and not picked by many outside of Northeast Nebraska to make it further than this Friday. Can they use that as motivation? BTW, the last time Aquinas didn't play in the semifinals of the playoffs, the current seniors were in 4th grade, will the streak continue? Aquinas 35, O'Neill 14.

Boys Town @ Arlington- Arlington is another undefeated team that is flying under the radar, however outside of defeating Boys Town, their schedule has not been as difficult as others remaining in the playoffs. Boys Town put up a season high in points in the first round, may they have something figured out after only scoring 6 points in the first match up. The old cliché holds true here, Boys Town 24, Arlington 21.

quite the game for the Eagles last night. I think the doubters will not be doubting any longer. they are the real deal.

Yup I'll eat crow. Really thought Aquinas would get it done and get to Lincoln. I didn't think O'Neill could get it done. Congrats to them!

I went to Kearney Catholic vs Wahoo last night. The Stars are legit. Their RB Holtmeier was a gamer. Great QB play from Masker as well, he's only a junior. Their Defensive line stopped Wahoo all night. They'll give Wahoo Neumann all they can handle on Friday.

Where is the Ruzicka kid going to college? Playing basketball or football? Stud athlete....hope he can get control of his mouth and temper.

Since I was 3 for 4 on C-1 quarters. I thought Arlington-BT game was the toughest to pick. The only miss. So on to the semis. O'Neill is physical. They can sling it all over the lot with a QB that the Big Red should be looking at. He reads the field incredibly well and puts it where it can only be caught. Boys Town has the speed and home field but I like the Eagles. Nuemann will not have as easy a task but they will be fresh heading into this one after a blowout win. KC has the momentum and fire power but Neumann's seniors are the difference. Nuemann wins another close one. O'Neill-Neumann final.
