Emily Sisson, who ran at Omaha Marian and Millard North before moving to Missouri to finish out her prep career, just set a new American record in the marathon while competing at the Chicago Marathon this morning. She clocked a time of 2:18:29 (a pace of 5:16 per mile). She broke the old record by 43 seconds.
