I think he is from Blue Hill though. Closer to home maybe?I guess I assumed he was in line for the Lourdes job (former Lourdes assistant and current boys basketball coach)

Yes, he is from Blue Hill and he still has family in the area.I think he is from Blue Hill though. Closer to home maybe?
I think he is a St. Cecilia grad, so maybe being back in the tri-city area was a priority?I guess I assumed he was in line for the Lourdes job (former Lourdes assistant and current boys basketball coach)
Coach Tomlin was a phenomenal coach and leader.
I am pretty sure he graduated from Blue Hill...I think he is a St. Cecilia grad, so maybe being back in the tri-city area was a priority?

Hayden Delano from Wayne. Which means Wayne will now be open.Anybody know who they hired?
They announced it publicly on January 7th. I'm betting they have had A LOT of qualified applicants apply for that job.How long has Norris been open? That's been a while.

I suppose it would determine what the situation was. Everyone thinks that just because someone is moving down classes that it's a bad move....but maybe it's the best move for that coach/teacher and their family. I would need to know the situation before making that assumption.Wayne to Deshler is an interesting move.
outsider perspective, Wayne looks like it’s been lacking the horses to compete in that area of the state the last few years. C1/C2 football in northeast Nebraska has been a meat grinder. And when you’re trying to get a program rolling, it’s tough to gain momentum when you’re playing Norfolk Catholic, Scotus, Cedar Cafholic, Pierce, etc. Not sure what the situation is like, but seems like they lack depth to compete. For a guy that was pretty successful in 8man, it may have been a shot to the ego and he’d feel more comfortable trying to help turn around Deshler.I suppose it would determine what the situation was. IMO Wayne is in a tough spot with their schedule and lack of tradition. They've always been a basketball/baseball school first. Not sure what it will take to get that mindset to change.outsider perspective, Wayne looks like it’s been lacking the horses to compete in that area of the state the last few years. Coach Dueland heading into Admin, great guy, great coach! That is a good job. Interesting.
Good for him! He is a great coach, love the Haymakers.Coach Dueland heading into Admin, great guy, great coach!
They will be B in boys basketball next year. Next two-year cycle for football could be B as well.WAYNE is close to moving into class B, they don't have the talent to compete in football at that class imo. just not enough athletes to compete at that level.
I wonder if they project out being B, if they’ll eventually absorb Winside. They will be B in boys basketball next year. Next two-year cycle for football could be B as well.
The play DC West who is B. They could pick up S Sioux, Schuyler, Blair, not a lot of other close B schools for sure.I wonder if they project out being B, if they’ll eventually absorb Winside.
It’ll be interesting to see who they schedule in B in hoops. Right now the only B team they play is Wahoo. It’ll also be interesting to see if they end up in B for football. Closest opponent would be Blair?
Lakeview is in the same "fringe" C1/B gray area....depending on the year that'd be an option too. I assume they look to see if SSC and maybe even Norfolk would want to play (or Columbus High). Other than that you are looking at Seward, York, Ralston (assuming you try to avoid scheduling too much of the Elkhorns, Gretnas, Benningtons, and Skutts of the class). The play DC West who is B. I see Wayne picking up more option kids out of Wakefield in the short term than getting anything from Winside. I also think Wayne is at a bit of a capacity issue as it is, and probably don't have a ton of room for option kids anyway.I wonder if they project out being B, if they’ll eventually absorb Winside.

I’ll be pretty surprised if Lakeview isn’t B in everything by 2030.Lakeview is in the same "fringe" C1/B gray area....depending on the year that'd be an option too. Yep. Mount Michael, DC West, Ashland-Greenwood, and Omaha Concordia are the next likely to grow to B. Maybe someday Lakeview, Adam's Central, or Wahoo. It's just so hard for any non metro school to have sustained growth. Of course always have the Aurora, Gross, Roncalli, types that teeter back and forth. Also years away but maybe Louisville, Fort Calhoun, or Lincoln Christian at some point too.Wayne is 25 male students away from class B in football (135 enrollment number for basketball this year. They won't be B in football for several cycles unless something changes in the classification process.
I thought the intent of Standing Bear and LNW was to always keep those schools at Class B level? There could be a lot of movement in the next football cycle. Bennington, Gretna East, Lincoln Northwest, Lincoln Standing Bear, and Elkhorn North will likely be class A. If you look at the most recent enrollment figures from the state Scottsbluff may be as well. Gretna is close but probably still B for the next cycle.
I thought the same, which is why they joined the Eastern Midlands Conference instead of the HACI thought the intent of Standing Bear and LNW was to always keep those schools at Class B level?
