The NSAA has posted trackers for the regions in Class C1 and C2 basketball under the Region Assignments links. Happy they did this! Going to be interesting seeing the changes over the next 2-3 weeks.

It is my understanding that they will be serpentining the district assignments based on power points.

In terms of power point standings, the top three seeds will host. #4 will be assigned with #3, #5 with #2, and #6 with #1. #7 will go to #1, #8 to #2, #9 to #3, and so on. Is this correct? If not, can someone explain how they will be assigned?

1 2 3
6 5 4
7 8 9
12 11 10

If you scroll down on the page the NSAA posted, it shows you the region matchups based on the current points. The top team in each of the districts would be the host.

C2-10

Gordon-Rushville (9-12)
Valentine (6-15)
Bayard (10-10)
Perkins County (7-12)
North Platte St. Patrick's (4-17)

Looking at that C2-10 district, won't be long before the eastern 2/3 of the state votes to not give the west their own subdistrict.

It is a little peculiar, though, that Perkins County is part of that "Western" district and MHC isn't.
I’d say NP st pats being in the western region and not Maywood/HC is what gets me. Grant is definitely west of HC. I guess technically Maywood is east of North Platte. So they take only 5 of the most western schools for that region. You have to cut a line somewhere

Region 4 Question in C1
Since there is 6 teams in this region, will the 1 and 2 seeds get byes and then the 3-6 and 4-5 play? Just curious how this will work with 6 teams in the subdistrict.

Yes, that's how it will play out:

Monday:
#4 Seed vs. #5 Seed
#3 Seed vs. #6 Seed

Tuesday:
#1 Seed vs. #4/#5 Winner
#2 Seed vs. #3/#6 Winner

Thursday:
Final

I think if some continue to complain about having to travel on back to back nights, the only way it could be fixed would be a mile rule that the higher seed can host a bunny bracket game if the #1 seed is a certain amount of miles away.

It's mostly because this is a Maywood location issue. Maywood is not easy to get to. It's 40 minutes away from the interstate at the NP turn. Coming from the east you have to get off I-80 at Cozad or Lex and drive 45 minutes on two lane highway.

Does new format eliminate wildcards?
The new format gives each sub winner a chance to play for a district title. So in C1 and C2 there are 10 subs, the 10 sub winners make it and six wildcards from the subs make it to district final weekend. High seed by points hosts the district final. The eight district final winners go to state.
