Good on Kearney Catholic and Boone Central for willing to host. They are about the only two who consistently host subs that don't involved their teams year in and year out. While the system is currently still in place for Class D, it's nice to have those schools willing to step up to do it.

Every game that was scheduled for today has been moved to Wednesday, March 5, except for Sutton @ Cedar Catholic. Common sense has to kick in at some point doesn't it?
I understand your "common sense" comment, but it is also fairly tough when Cedar's girls play Wednesday night in Lincoln for state. Not really sure moving to Wednesday would be doable.

It's doable, but I'm sure they don't want to split their fan base. Should have thought about this when they scheduled the game for Tuesday instead of Saturday or yesterday.

I'm not a fan on the boys subs & district finals being such a rush. IMO bunny bracket games should be Saturday, then sub district semis on Monday, finals Tuesday or Wednesday, then all district finals on Saturday with weather date on Mon or Tues.

Teams are used to playing every 2 or 3 days during the regular season. Playing on Thursday and then playing another game on Saturday isn't that big of a deal.

Takes the fun out of it as a coach. Strategizing and coming up with a game plan for some is pretty cool
You can do that on Thursday night after the sub final. Put the game plan in on Friday and then go play the game on Saturday. Pretty much the same thing you do all season long.

Nothing like what you do all season if you’re a good coach. You know your conference foes inside and out over years of playing against them. Possibly implement offensive and defensive strategies to get the most wins possible based on your scheduled opponent’s.

A good coach will stay up and watch film on Thursday night into Friday morning and get the plan put together. Get it installed on Friday at practice. There were a lot of teams that played their district final on Saturday and I'm sure all of the coaches got their game plan done and installed on Friday. Might not be ideal but it's very possible.

Perfect world.............of course you want 2, 3, or 4 practices to prepare for the District Final. Coaches want control and the ability to game plan the perfect setup.

But let's face it, if you want to win in the postseason, you have to win 3 games in 3 days to be a state champion. You aren't getting any prep time after day one. Having one practice prior to the district final goes both ways, so no one is at a disadvantage.

Coaches should have a pretty good idea who they might play in a district final going into subs. Not impossible to get film on the 2 or 3 strongest possibilites early to get a jump start on scout and game planning for each. I would imagine most coaches are doing this, especially ones that are accustomed to advancing in the post-season.

Elephant in the room with bunny bracket weekend before...the large club volleyball tournament in Omaha on Presidents Day weekend.

Already impacts girls basketball participation in parts of the state. Would likely do it even more if there was a direct conflict.
