It's hard to know who was invited. Some of the kids invited turn it down for various reasons ranging from family commitments to next level school concerns. It would be fun to know who all was invited. Knowing that there are 13 FBS commits in Nebraska and only six playing tells us that about half of those invited declined.

Where do you come up with 13 FBS recruits? I count 12, and that's with the 50+ kids Air Force signed, as their recruiting is different than your typical FBS school. So 8 of the 12 are playing by this list.

Nebraska
Chris Walker - Playing
Jaylin Bradley - Declined
Austin Allen - Declined

Wyoming
Rudy Stofer - Playing
Patrick Arnold - Playing
Davon Wells-Ross - Unknown if invited

Ohio
Brett Kitrell - Playing

Central Florida
Noah Vedral - Playing

Air Force
Rhett Harms - Playing
Lane McCallum - Declined
Peter Gehrls - Playing
Stephen Hillis - Playing

This is where the six FBS came from, interesting article. http://www.omaha.com/neprepzone/football/shrine-bowl-to-have-fbs-signees-including-wahoo-neumann-s/article_30e62b0f-74f0-506d-9ca9-d6f3d8e38802.html

This is where the 13 came from which was Alumni’s post of 2 Feb, I didn’t verify the names but it was my source. Your comments about the AF academy are interesting. The service academies like the Ivy League do not give out athletic scholarships. They do give blue chip nominations (called different names at each academy) as well as a large number of “prep” school nominations. If you’re interested I will be happy to explain how they work off line.

I didn't count Broc Bando, since he didn't play HS ball in Nebraska and also is already in college at NU and not eligible to play in the Shrine Bowl.
