CLASS C1

In class C1 and C2, similar to volleyball this year, each class will be divided into four regions, based on geography. The westernmost region will consist of one sub-district with 5 or 6 teams. The other three regions will have 15-18 teams each. Each of those three regions will serpentine into three sub-districts of 4 to 6 teams, based on wildcard points through Saturday, February 15. The 10 sub-district winners and six wildcards will then qualify for district finals.

Why are there so many regions in D1 and D2? As compared to C1 and C2's like 4 regions.
C1 and C2 will eventually look like D1 and D2. The difference is that C1 and C2 will divide into sub-districts towards the end of the year and will be serpentined by their region. D1 and D2 have subs that are predetermined before the season starts. Hope that makes sense.

Why are there so many regions in D1 and D2? As compared to C1 and C2's like 4 regions.
C1 and C2 are the only classes using the regional format. Towards the end of the season, traditional sub-districts will be created out of the serpentine-ranked regional teams.

D1 and D2 are assigned sub-districts solely on geography, like has always been done.

So why is C1 and C2 different than all the other classes why not do the same format from the start?

So why is C1 and C2 different than all the other classes why not do the same format from the start?
It as a compromise between the eastern have the state and the panhandle for how to solve the problem of 3 top 5 teams ending up in the same sub district. Panhandle wanted to stick with geography due to travel purposes so by splitting everything else up into regions, top teams may be dispersed a bit better after the results of the regular season has been accounted for. Volleyball did it this year and it worked pretty well. C1 and C2 are more alike than D1 and D2 so the proposal was only for those two classes. If it was for those classes as well it wouldn’t have passed.

So why is C1 and C2 different than all the other classes why not do the same format from the start?
Because the format only passed in those two classes. (I can't remember if it was proposed for Class D or not.)
