Took a peek at the C-1 powerpoint standings this morning, sure enough the top 5 teams in the standings are in 2 districts. Seems this is an issue in at least one class every year. What does it take for this to be fixed?

It takes the member schools to vote for a new way to do things. Talk to your school's superintendent, principal and activities director. See if they would be willing to come up with a new proposal on how the NSAA should conduct postseason in basketball.

I'm sure C1 will go to the sub state format pretty soon like Class B did this year. This would hopefully fix the problem that you bring up. C1 volleyball has had sub state format for 2 seasons already so I'm sure basketball will follow sooner than later.

Why not to do it for all classes of basketball and volleyball next fall/winter? Its a great system, and its easy. Wrestling serpentines their districts based on prior year's results to keep things balanced. Geography is not a big deal anymore. "Substate" games at neutral sites works well. Teams in the panhandle travel long distances every time they go on the road, so why not? Why have power points if the district structure doesn't match it? Having 5 of the top 6 teams in C1 in the two districts is not fair to anyone. This change should not have to be so difficult.

why, well because some of these teams know they have no chance if you make it fair, they want in because of a weak district sad very sad but true
