The NSAA approved the numbers at their December meeting, why don't they post them on their website, doesn't make sense.

There is a certain time period for schools to confirm or challenge the numbers. Can't remember if the December point is the beginning or the end of the period.

The enrollment numbers from 2024-2025 are used for 2025-2026 activities/athletics.

They use the 9-11 numbers from 24-25 for 25-26. Those numbers are posted.

I retract my last statement. I opened the 24-25 numbers, and they are actually from the year prior.

I stand corrected.

Does anyone know why the enrollments need to be turned in so early for the next year?
Just spitballing here, because I have no clue, but perhaps for funding-related issues not related to NSAA activities. (i.e. state aid, free and reduced lunch, etc.)

I believe this is correct. Not certain on the timeline, but there is a time period where schools can correct the numbers reported.

It will be awhile before schools coop/consolidate. Small schools are funded by the farmers & land tax. If farmers want their school and are willing to pay.... Unless Nebraska does like Iowa did several years ago and steps in and provide extra funding for schools to consolidate. This should happen because we have too many school buildings operating for the amount of kids in them.

If the governor gets his way in the next legislative session and they hard cap school budgets like they did city’s and county’s last legislative cycle that will be a start to forcing consolidations.
