DCS easy win over Elm Creek
Anselma over Boyd County very tough game to pick but I think Anselma had a tougher schedule.
Axtell by 3 TD's over Loomis
Sandhills big over Overton
Ainsworth easily over Kennesaw
Twin Loup in a tight game vs Hitchcock County 42 to 36
Mullen over Hyannis the same as the regular season
South Loup easy win over Ansley Litchfield
JB wins easily as a #1 seed should win
In the game of the night in D2 Bloomfield over HD in a great game. Ziegler has game winning TD 26 to 20
LCC over HPC in a tighter game than it should be
St. Fran 40 Fullerton 6
CV wins 56 to 20
Lawrence Nelson EPPJ game is tough pick. I give the edge to EPPJ bc game is at home but wont be surprised in LN wins
BDS over Osceola but feel whoever has the ball last in this game wins. BDS by 2
Wynot over Silver Lake easily.
On to Round 2
Any injury updates that change these games?
Or any games that I missed by a long ways?

#2 team in D2, imo.

Also maybe the toughest road. SL & JB just to get the memorial.

I actually think South Loup is like the 7th best team in the Class.

They're the easiest team to defend. And that's not to dismiss Trey Connell. He's awesome, but come on.. you can't win State running 7 plays.

Central Valley is very good and their Junior Running back Kelly is special. They have played 7 teams that are in the playoffs and rolled all 7.

Yes you can.

Ya just ask Howells-Dodge how that worked out last year

I mean….Howells did win 8 titles in 10 years titles doing the same thing to teams over and over again. Last year it didn’t work but 95% of the time it does for HD.

Let me elaborate on my point:

I don't believe it can happen this season for two reasons:

1. There are some teams playing incredible defense this season. And those teams are a little better at complimentary football meaning, I think they can score as well as stop a team.

2. Unlike Howells-Dodge in the past, South Loup isn't playing elite defense. You CAN run those same 7 plays down someone's throat if you can stop them offense. I don't see that with South Loup.

If a team were capable of winning state with that type of approach this season, it would be St. Francis.

Who says South Loup isn't playing elite defense? Because they gave up 34 to S/T in a Top 10 game? Other than that they have done exactly what they needed to. Their JV's play a fair amount each game as well. I can't say that for some other teams I've seen. Don't get me started on that...SL's two big guys are as good as their is in the state. Both legit D2 college kids if they so choose. The center is no slouch either. They are going to run the ball down your throat until the safeties come up to help, then they are going run their end (a state track champ i believe) right past your DB's. It is literally a scheme that has accounted for untold State Titles. As mentioned, Ask Howells, Dodge, Mullen, etc. If their dudes are better than your dudes they can do it. I have thought since about week 6 of last year SL was the team to beat in D2 this season. Too much size, speed, experience (4-5 starters have started since day 1 freshman year), depth and don't underestimate a coaching staff that has take a team to Lincoln before. Don't get me wrong, these playoffs are going to be awesome to watch but its going to take a damn good team to beat South Loup.

Yes, it will take a damn good team to beat South Loup. And there are about 6 damn Good teams better than them. That's kind of my point.

How
You are right. Hitchock County did it to them running a basic run based offense.
Howells did it for about 10 years in a row where nobody could stop the sweep play. They might have passed once per game on average. It helps when you have superior talent but also the blocking schemes and techniques are what set them apart.
