This is interesting. I thought I remember something earlier in this thread about Burke NOT being open. Can't remember exactly what it was, maybe his name being mentioned as a possibility for the new Central coach at the time? Obviously that didn't end up happening.

Unfortunately looks like Bertrand will be open. Steve Colfack announced on twitter today “he’s been told he will not be coaching football anymore”. Shame on Bertrand admin for letting that happen, Steve is a HOF coach and a great guy!

Was sorry to hear that news out of Bertrand earlier today. I've known him since grade school. His first team at Butte started 0-2 and was down by two touchdowns at half of his third game. Long story short....they rallied and won and his teams went something like 55-5 from that point through the 99 season. Had three runner-ups and a state title during that stretch.

Not sure what the story here is but Steve sounded like he was blindsided with this yesterday. What a terrible way for the admins to handle this. No disrespect to the new guy but if I'm a Bertrand parent right now I wouldn't be very happy. Loomis is right down the road. As you said, HOF and great guy.
