Baseball Class B and C District Brackets Released

Also for the record, the team that is the current back to back state champions and #1 seed going into districts is the 4th smallest school in the state. Their last loss in a post season elimination game was against Elkhorn North if I'm not wrong...a school 5.7 times bigger than they are. Can you imagine the outrage in football if this were the case....
The outrage of a small school beating a large school in football? I guess I'm not following your point here.

Baseball Class B and C District Brackets Released

When are we going to get away with spring baseball in the lower classes. Only 9 teams in Class c have a winning record that are in districts!!!! Smh
It’s called amateur sports. Not every team can be undefeated. I think it’s great that they have this opportunity for the boys wanting to play baseball. Maybe if we can take the emphasis off of records and put it on teaching the kids, and let’s remember that these are still kids, then sports in general will be a better place for kids to be.

Game Balls

Is that the other ball on that site? There's an Adidas, a Nike, and then another one. Says custom Team Issue
Yes, the team issue ball is the ball the coaches I know that use them have. I don't know of anyone that has the Nike or Adidas from them, but I also don't believe those were options when the schools/coaches I know began using team issue. Once they've mudded the Team Issue ball they are great. I remember when Fremont Bergan posted a picture on Twitter 8 to 10 years ago and the idea of a ball with your logo for high school kinda took off it seems.

Baseball Class B and C District Brackets Released

We just added class C baseball 3 years ago. It's about providing an opportunities for kids! You complain about the records, yet we've had 5 schools add baseball and more adding it next year. Kids have made a push to add baseball in their schools because there are many that want to play, for them it's about the opportunity.

Scheduling in baseball is tough. When a school doesn't have developed pitchers it's hard for them to compete in four games a week. They don't have to do that but most will some weeks. Go look at those class B schools that are around .500 and how many of them beat the class C schools you speak of to be over .500?

We have multiple classes in football...hell we just added a 3rd class of 8 man so that the numbers are close because a class being too wide from biggest to smallest isn't fair. Why should baseball be different?

Baseball Class B and C District Brackets Released

When are we going to get away with spring baseball in the lower classes. Only 9 teams in Class c have a winning record that are in districts!!!! Smh

No...I previously talked about not staying when we traveled west over 5 hours for games...that's where the 5 hours comment came from. I had previously said we traveled over 2 hours and never came down the night before.

I would imagine anyone west of Kearney probably does come and stay the night before...heck maybe even west of GI in lower classes with the first game of the day. If it's shorter than 3 hours, I don't imagine many school districts spending the money to stay overnight before.

New Football Coaches/Jobs

The Jared Crick-Cozad reunion could be the perfect fit. He obviously has a ton of knowledge of the game with his experience. That being said, sometimes the best of players struggle to teach so it'll be interesting to see how he fills that role. Cozad has some really good young talent and it should be easy to get buy-in from those kids with the opportunity to learn from someone who has done it at the highest level.

As far as best jobs, hard to argue with Bishop-Neumann, Blair and York.
I really hope he can take it to the next level. Cozad is such an underrated town and it would be nice to have a strong, consistent power west of Aurora.

Played at 10:30 one year. Had a breakfast at 6:30... when we would normally have weightlifting. Boarded the bus and drove to Lincoln. Arrived at 9:00 or so. Walked the field to get loose, changed, and the guys played. Same time frame we used for all games all season for arriving, dress, and warmups.

Once took a charter bus paid for by parents to a long trip. Won and came home. Next year had a trip about half as far, we decided to take a regular school bus. Decided we'd save the charter for the trip to Lincoln, and the guys were all on board. Earn the trip to Lincoln, ride the nice bus.

To each their own. Our mindset was always to follow our routine for game day time frame.
