NSAA keeps state baseball tournament at Werner Park, other Omaha sites through 2028

The Nebraska high school state baseball tournament will continue to be hosted at Werner Park, Tal Anderson Field and other Omaha venues until at least 2028.

The Nebraska state baseball tournament is staying in Omaha until at least 2028.

The Omaha Storm Chasers announced Wednesday the continuation of a partnership with the Nebraska School Activities Association and University of Nebraska-Omaha. The agreement keeps the NSAA State Baseball Championships in the metro through the 2027-28 season.

Games will be held at the Storm Chasers' Werner Park, UNO's Tal Anderson Field and four secondary venues. Fricke Field and Papillion-LaVista South are two of those secondary sites, with the other two to be named later.

"The Omaha Storm Chasers are excited to continue hosting the Nebraska High School Baseball Championships at Werner Park for the next four years," Storm Chasers manager of special events Anthony Goetz said in a press release. "We are grateful for our partnership with the NSAA and Omaha athletics and look forward to providing a state-of-the-art venue for high school athletes and their families."

Werner Park has been a tournament host site since 2013, while Tal Anderson Field -- which opened in 2021 -- started hosting games in 2022.

Won't be any different than any other score table duties (i.e. game clock, PA, book).

I would imagine though if you posted online you were looking to pay.....someone would step up. Just a hunch.

How about some D-2 predictions, should be some great games.

Archangels over HD 38-14. AA just too balanced to get beat here

Central Valley over Wynot 56-20. CV too talented and will be tough to stop.

Sandhill-Thedford over Riverside 54-44. High scoring game with Cox not getting stopped. Difference will be ST creating turnovers.

Overton over BDS 34-30. Tight game with Overton winning late.
