The NSAA Board of Directors met on March 9, 2022 at the NSAA Office in Lincoln with the following members present:
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 AM.
1. Motion was made to approve the Consent Agenda. Items on the Consent Agenda included:
Motion Carried: 8-0
2. Moved to approve Board and Staff expenses for the NFHS Summer Meeting in San Antonio. Motion Carried: 8-0
3. The Board heard a discussion from Millard North Athletic Director Chad Zimmerman and Lincoln High Athletic Director Pat Gatzemeyer on the use of a shot clock in Class A for the 2022-23 varsity girls and boys basketball season.
4. Moved to allow Class A to pilot the use of a shot clock for the 2022-23 varsity girls and boys basketball season, including the post-season. Motion Carried: 5-3 (For: Wieskamp, Wiseman, Reznicek, Lee, Ruhl | Against: Cerny, Drews, Unzicker).
5. Moved to approve the hire of NSAA Assistant Director Taryn Retzlaff. Motion Carried: 8-0
6. Moved to enter into Executive Session at 8:47 a.m. for the purpose of the protection of the public interest and the reputation of individuals. Motion Carried: 8-0
7. Moved to exit Executive Session at 9:11 a.m. Motion Carried: 8-0
8. Moved to approve staff salaries and benefits as presented. Motion Carried: 8-0
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:41 a.m.
The next meeting of the NSAA Board of Directors will be April 7, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. at the NSAA Office in Lincoln. In addition, the NSAA Representative Assembly will convene on April 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
